Meghan Romo

(Patient Rep)

Hi! My name is Meghan Romo. I have lived in Valparaiso Indiana for 16 years and am originally from Downers Grove Illinois. I am the middle child of a very tall group of siblings. I myself am 6’0” and have an older brother who is 6’4” and younger sister who is 6’0”. Crazy enough my parents and siblings were all born in the same hospital in Hinsdale Illinois. I have recently become an aunt this past February 2016 to a very smiley and happy nephew who puts a smile of my face every time I see him! I can’t wait to teach him how to play sports when he grows older. I have always been involved in athletics such as volleyball and softball, and believe that individuals can take away important life-long skills from sports. In high school, I was named The 2008 Times Player of the Year for the Duneland Athletic Conference. My hard work in high school and club volleyball earned me a full ride athletic scholarship to play collegiate Women’s Volleyball for the Northern Illinois University Huskies. I was a 4 year starter for the Huskies, 2011 Conference Champions who advanced to the NCAA tourney, and made the all Mid-America Conference 1st team. We made history for our University or MAC conference. I graduated NIU with a Bachelor’s of Science. After college, I worked in an outpatient physical therapy technician for a year in a half, before moving back home and becoming part of the OBTS team. I started at OBTS in July 2014 as a physical therapy technician and overtime became the patient representative. Watching the progress patients can make during therapy has always been a rewarding feeling and I enjoy getting to know each patient more throughout their therapy treatment.
